What is beauty?

The perception of beauty is personal; it is based on our life experience, our predispositions and alchemy. Although we cannot measure a person’s beauty, we can measure the harmony of a face. The canons of beauty can be different depending on the culture or the time. However, the harmony of the face is timeless. It is scientifically proven that symmetry is attractive. The perception of beauty comes from the face as a whole; however, the different parts of the face do not contribute equally to beauty. According to Professor Gordon Patzer, a specialist in physical attractiveness, five elements predominate in the beauty of a face making it attractive :

  • The teeth 76%

  • Smile 75%

  • Lips 73%

  • The eyes 63%

  • The nose 58%

Facial harmony can be achieved by taking into account all these different elements. At the Neuchâtel dental clinic, different esthetic solutions are offered to patients in order to create a beautiful smile, as well as facial harmony.

Do you love your smile ?

A beautiful smile brightens a face, beautifies the person, raises self-esteem and projects an image of confidence and self-assurance, thereby making the person more attractive and comfortable. Sometimes a simple correction is enough to restore the harmony of the face. The question is: "Do you love your smile?" If not, treat yourself and transform your smile with esthetic dentistry.
At the Neuchâtel dental clinic, we offer a wide range of customized esthetic treatments :

White spot correction

At the Neuchâtel dental clinic, we use a new technology to make your whitish stains disappear for good, while strengthening your enamel.
These whitish, and sometimes brown spots, are areas of hypomineralization of the enamel (fluorosis, MIH, hypoplasia ...)

Tooth whitening

Tooth whitening can be achieved thanks to a technology that activates the whitening product with a specific lamp that allows for rapid and lasting whitening in one session.

There is also a home whitening technique using custom-made transparent trays. The duration of the treatment varies from 2 weeks to 1 month depending on the expected result.

For teeth that have become gray following a root canal treatment, we offer internal bleaching.

Gingivoplasty

Gingivoplasty is the removal of excess gum tissue that makes teeth small. This procedure allows us to broaden a smile.

Ameloplasty

Ameloplasty is a precise, one-time touch-up of the enamel to align the teeth in a single session, and without anesthesia.

Amalgam replacement

Amalgam fillings are unsightly restorations that contain mercury. If necessary, they can be replaced with composite resins that mimic the color and morphology of natural teeth.

Veneers

Veneers are thin films of ceramic or composite resin, often compared to contact lenses, which are bonded to the surface of the tooth to correct defects in shape, color and alignment of the teeth. They can be used to create individualized and customized smiles. There are different types of veneers:

Ceramic veneers
These are thin ceramic films that are bonded to the surface of the teeth with or without touching up the underlying tooth.

Composite veneers
These are just as esthetically pleasing as ceramic veneers and are less expensive. They are made in the session without imprints. However, they are less durable than ceramic veneers.

Crowns

Unlike dental veneers that cover only one side of the tooth, crowns cover the entire tooth which has been previously prepared. Dental crowns can also be used to strengthen teeth that have been weakened, for example, by root canal treatment. There are different types of crowns depending on the indication.
