Periodontics

A sneaky disease, a promising treatment.

What is periodontal disease ?

Periodontitis is a bacterial disease caused mainly by tartar, which destroys the tissues that support the teeth (gum and bone). The main manifestations of this disease are swelling and bleeding of the gums, gingival recession, tooth mobility and bad breath. Often asymptomatic for the patient, only a thorough oral examination makes it possible to diagnose this. The treatment consists of cleaning the root of the teeth and the inflammatory gum tissue, thus reducing bleeding, pain, and tooth mobility, not to mention bad breath. In some cases, a suitable antibiotic therapy will be prescribed.
